We are pleased to inform you that PLGMEA in collaboration with EPB is initiating a Training Program for upgrading the skills of workforce of Leather Garment Exporters. For the purpose PLGMEA has hired the services of Korean Technicians/experts to impart the knowledge of latest production techniques and methodologies being followed by modern factories worldwide. This program is expected to commence from Monday 17th April 2006.
For maximum learning of workers both classroom lectures and practical improvement at workplaces in the factories would be arranged. A comprehensive Training Program has been planned in the light of needs of the industry and our members’ previous experience with Korean Technicians. The following topics would be covered in the training.

1. Pattern Making of Leather Garments – Manual as well as Computerized System
2. Sample Making techniques
3. Cutting techniques
4. Stitching techniques
5. Fusing techniques
6. Lining / Foam Cutting
7. Final Checking
8. Packing techniques
9. Quality Control Methods
10. Machine Maintenance

The Korean Experts will conduct classroom lectures from 9:00 am till 2:00 pm and will carry out factory visits from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm to guide practically the factory workers about implementation of stitching, cutting, pattern & productivity tools. The course duration is planned three months and two courses of equal duration are planned, from April to July 06 and from Aug to Oct 06.


The course fee is very nominal Rs. 10,000/- per Company. An exporter can send maximum of two participants in one course against said fee. Separate fee of Rs. 5,000/- would be charged for each additional participant.


All members are requested to participate in this Training Program to upgrade the production skills of their workforce and to enhance quality of their Leather Garment. The Training will be carried out at National Institute of Leather Technology (NILT) – Karachi and Leather Products Development Institute (LPDI) – Sialkot.
